The Royal African Company (RAC) was an English mercantile company set up in by the royal Stuart family and City of London merchants to trade along the west coast of Africa. It was led by the Duke of York, who was the brother of Charles II and later took the throne as James shipped more African slaves to the Americas than any other institution in the history of the Founded: in London, England.

The Royal African Company was formed for the purpose of establishing trade in West Africa. In addition, it served to gather resources and free labor. As a result, the Company was essentially the colonial commercial arm of the British Empire in the region West Africa upon forming in In the years following the Glorious Revolution, independent slave traders challenged the charter of the Royal African Company by asserting their natural rights as Britons to trade freely in enslaved Africans.

My library. The Buzz I was on the lookout for African based fantasy YA so I was totally interested in A River of Royal Blood when I saw the cover. And while the cover doesn't slay me it's strength lies in giving us a sense right away of what this book is going to be about/5().
